Re: Alex Song. Yes or No?
Where did this mystical £10m figure come from?

Re: Alex Song. Yes or No?
I would snap your hand off for 10 mil for song. Even with a dip in form he's our best player on the pitch by some margin

Re: Alex Song. Yes or No?
Song has been carrying a knock for a while but I agree that playing in a midfield 3 with Noble and Nolan hasn't helped him.

Talk of £10m is laughable, people are posting it like we would be doing Barca a favour.

The interesting point is that we look like we're going to sign Diarra in the summer who was a better player who's reached a higher level and the management may see that as better value but like all PL clubs we've plenty to spend in the summer and if Song wants to stay then we should be pushing the boat out to sign him regardless of getting Diarra in.

Re: Alex Song. Yes or No?
Only a few months ago a few on here were calling him the GREATEST player to ever wear our famous shirt... I laughed a lot... a hell of a lot.... anyway now there is a discussion as to whether we keep him or not?? Blimey O'Riley

Re: Alex Song. Yes or No?
His poor form is only down to the fact tht when hes playing next to Nolan and Noble football becomes a job to him. If Allardyce hadn't sacrificed our season at Chelsea and if Alex Song had someone other than Nolan next to him I think his play would be noticeably better.

The strikers have fallen off more than him as well btw.

Re: Alex Song. Yes or No?
As soon as everyone started talking about our need to sign Song in the summer. I have stuck to the stance of, let's see how he does this season before we talk of signing him. I'm 60% certain I'd want to sign him but still am a bit unconvinced. He's slow pace really gets to me too.

Never thought I'd say this but his form is worrying

Re: Alex Song. Yes or No?
I cant believe there us anyone on this forum that thinks we can get a better midfielder for 10m.

Some cunt actually said we ought to play Nolan instead of Song because he's been shit.
What a fucking hilarious cunt of a poster!

Re: Alex Song. Yes or No?
Absolutely yes, he is all over the pitch and it's only his distribution which needs a little more composure. Few less hollywood passes.
To be fair he's had little movement in front of him and a weaker midfield around him for quite a few games and it has changed how effective he is.
Teams also shut him down straight away as he is identified as a threat.
Definitely the type of player we need if we expect to challenge higher up the table.

Still not sure yet,end of season decision me thinks.

Re: Alex Song. Yes or No?
Yes. He has been the passer in the team by a country mile, even with his supposed loss of form. And when he loses it, he invariably wins it back.

His poor form has been massively overstated.

Re: Alex Song. Yes or No?
It's not my money, he'll yeah!

Not in the best form at the mo, but I've seen enough to see he's a class act. Bossed it against City, one of the best teams around.

Re: Alex Song. Yes or No?
Very frustrating player but if we could get him for £10m then yes.

He reminds of playing football with a kid whose a year or two older and its just so easy for him. If he wants to he can run the show but its whether he wants to on the day.
Think he tries to play the killer pass too often and it too rarely comes off. The ball for Downing (v. Hull?) was sublime.

Do in form coincides with k nolan playing.

Coincidence?

Yes of course buy him

Grumpster 3:37 Sat Feb 21
Re: Alex Song. Yes or No?
Of course we want players like song at the club and all players go through patches where out of form.

He bloody annoys me with his refusal to head a ball though or even attempt to.

I'm suee someone told me recently that he hadn't headed a single ball since joining, which wouldn't surprise me.

Re: Alex Song. Yes or No?
It's all about attitude with him isn't it. If he can get on top of that then dig deep to get him.

If his mind is somewhere else then let's move on.

Sxboy_66 3:29 Sat Feb 21
Re: Alex Song. Yes or No?
His recent form might help us get him for a decent price. Of course I'd love us to sign him but it would be a massive gamble that any manager can get him playing consistently well so the price would have to be reasonable.

That said, if he was consistently as good as his best we wouldn't get a sniff at him and he'd be a £50M player.
